Take Me back to Signs and Scenes of Penn Hills


These photos are courtesy of Joe Barreiro Class of '72. He took the photos of Schwarzel's back in 1983.
For those of you too young to remember Schwarzel's, it stood right at the intersection of Jefferson, Rodi and Universal Roads.


Off to the right of this photo at Jefferson and Rodi, in the parking lot, always sat a beautiful Avanti auto. It looked space-age sitting in that parking lot.


I always loved the motto above Schwarzel's door "Oldest Home of Turner's Dairy Products"...


Here you can see the water tower that stands on Loughey Road, and a great view of the Jefferson-Rodi Road intersection.


Remember that house/garage that sat behind Schwarzel's on Jefferson Road? There it is...
